As soon as I was told our media project would be a music video I thought it would be best to do some background research into how music videos began and why they have become such an integral part to any musicians success.
Music videos have no doubt revolutionised the music industry, however, this also goes hand in hand with the revolution of technology and how we listen to music. At first the only way people would be able to listen to music would be through either live performance or radio, yet now we hear most music either televised or even more so through the internet with websites such as YouTube, which I will analyse in far more detail later on.
I feel the reason music videos are so popular is because of the way it allows people to relate better with the stars since previously unless you had seen an artist live you wouldn't know what they looked like. By allowing people to see the artists it allows them to feel some form of relationship with the artist and gives the audience soe kind of insight as to what they are like as a person and not just a musician.
